Bolivia’s peak tourist season is from June to September, during the drier winter months. This is the country's main fiesta season, and the bright, crisp, and chilly highlands can be enjoyed best at this time, especially if you are interested in hiking, although tourists are certainly able to enjoy a visit year-round. The winter is from May to October when it is wise to bring warm clothing to keep out the cold.

Bolivia's summer and rainy season is from November to April, when heavy rains, mud and bugs reign supreme in the tropical lowlands. It is coldest during the months of June to September and wettest from December to March. The dry season is best for travel due to the better road conditions and generally sunny skies and warm temperatures during the day. Travel to most regions of Bolivia is certainly possible year round but you must be prepared to deal with the seasonal changes that affect road and atmospheric conditions.
