Nicaragua has a tropical climate and it is important that you come prepared for the sun and heat. A hat, sunglasses, lot of sunscreen and light clothing are recommended. Bathing suits, t-shirts, board shorts and flip flops are important for the beach. If you plan to do an excursion to the volcanoes or nature watching, you need to bring a rain jacket and hiking shoes.  It is recommended that you bring insect repellent with at least 25% DEET.
