Each of Peru’s geographical zones has its own climate. The coastal region’s summertime (Dec-Apr) has hot and dry temperatures ranging from 25˚C to 30˚C. These are the best times for swimming. During the winter (May-Nov) the temperature is a little cooler and it is cloudy.

April through to October in the sierra region is hot and dry during the day and cold and dry at night (often dropping below freezing)
The wet season runs from November through to April, it is usually clear and dry in the mornings with rain in the afternoons.

The Jungle’s dry season (Apr-Oct) temperatures can get up to 35˚C- this is the best time to visit the Jungle because from November through to April it is the rainy season, even though during this time it only rains for a few hours at a time (not enough to spoil your trip) it is enough to make many of the roads virtually impassable.
Peru’s high season is June-September, which is the best time for hiking the Inca Trails or trekking or climbing throughout other parts of the country.
