Why Should I Study Spanish here?

Spanish program Spanish in the Rainforest offers the unique opportunity to study Spanish in the Peruvian Amazon, in Tambopata National Park. Tambopata is internationally acclaimed as one of the most bio-diverse areas on earth. It is a green paradise, particularly famous for its monkeys, giant river otters, black caimans, capibaras, tapirs and hundreds of bird species. Students who study here all experience far more than Spanish language lessons. It is a wonderful opportunity to live in the Peruvian rainforest and to get to know the local culture.

This Spanish school is well known for the interactive and communicative teaching method, small class sizes and personal attention, making sure students can reach their goals. Students are encouraged to begin their Spanish course in Cusco, at least one week before starting in Tambopata. This way, teachers can evaluate the studentís Spanish level, and also the personal needs and goals.

Volunteer Program

Spanish program Students are able to augment their Spanish lessons with our Volunteer Program in Peru. It provides them a unique opportunity to live and work in Peru. Students will improve their Spanish greatly and at the same time get to know the Peruvian culture from closeby. Through the Volunteer Program, students are able to make contributions to the Peruvian society. Note that most of the volunteer projects run in Cusco and Arequipa.


Spanish program While participating in the Spanish program in Tambopata, students will enjoy a beautiful accommodation in the rainforest. The lodge where you will be staying is located approximately one hour by boat from Puerto Maldonado and is set beside the Tambopata River. There are a total of 24 spacious bungalows with panoramic views and private bathrooms. The rainforest lodge is in a lovely environment and there is a large common room with a bar and a swimming pool. There are also 900 hectares of land around the lodge that offers the enthusiastic explorer miles of trails to walk that traverse a variety of different habitats.

After their Spanish classes, students are offered a variety of excursions in the rainforest which are organized by professional, bi-lingual forest guides. Students can engage in various hikes through wildlife trails, visit Sandoval Lake to canoe and see monkeys, turtles and Giant Otters, visit observation towers, enjoy night walks and visits to a butterfly farm, participate in Peruvian cooking lessons and take trips to Monkey Island! Obviously you can also decide to extend your stay and visit other Peruvian highlights such as Machu Picchu, perhaps even in combination with the Inca Trail.
